As an experienced digital marketer, I built my network marketing business through passion and perseverance. I became a network marketing top earner and thought of sharing my strategies with a much bigger audience. I have been in network marketing for the past 10 years, and I have done things old school, and I have also used social media to build my business.
But what I’ve noticed over the past couple of years, is that there is a fundamental shift happening right in the network marketing industry.
Actually, two things are making a HUGE impact on how digital marketers scale their business…

1. People are no longer interested in doing the more traditional network marketing methods.
Gone are home parties, hotel meetings, and coffee shop meetings. Almost every single day, I get messages from network marketers saying, “I don’t want to do that anymore.” Or, “My upline is telling me to do these things and I want to build online.” So, I think it’s safe to say that the future of network marketing is no longer an in-person meetings or events. It is through SOCIAL MEDIA.
2. People that have been building online and have been taught to build online still use spammy strategies that don’t work.
Frankly, these outdated strategies reputations. And people are getting sick of that too. Are you familiar with the very awkward “Hey girl!” messages? I don’t know if you guys get those, but I get probably two to three every single day.
People popping into my inbox that I don’t even know, and they don’t even attempt to ask me any questions or get to know me. It’s just a straight pitch for joining their team. Another counter-productive tactic people use on social media include just posting about your products all day long.
Moreover, these two significant changes have even been heightened because the world has completely changed due to COVID-19.
Now some of the advice I’ve seen online on how to continue to grow your business during this pandemic makes sense.
Even traditional businesses are taking a different approach to business during these times, so as business owners in the network marketing industry we need to take a cue, not just because of the way that people want to build in network marketing, but it’s now becoming the only way to build in network marketing.
So, if you’re reading this, maybe you’ve resisted using social media for your network marketing business in the past, and you’re here to learn how to pivot, how to shift, how to navigate in this new normal that we’re in.
Perhaps you’ve been digital for a while. Maybe you’re kicking butt at it and you’re just looking to level-up.

My Journey to Digital Network Marketing
I’d love to just give you a little bit of background on me.
Yes! I am a top leader in my network marketing company, and I grew to the top of the company in 18 months.

I did this using 100% social media and digital strategy. So, it’s pretty cool to be able to say that the past couple of years have been filled with more success than failures.
But I want to be really clear with you, it wasn’t always this way. I did that old school thing for several years too…
I am one of the most coachable people you’ll ever meet. If somebody who has the results that I want, tells me to try something, I’m going to do it. So, I was at every Super Saturday Training, every hotel room event, and I even hosted home parties.
But, I would say that probably the most embarrassing thing I ever did was walk around my neighborhood with something called a Sparkle Bucket…
So, that sparkle bucket had products inside of it, and I would knock on people’s doors and ask them if they wanted to borrow the bucket for a week. And then I would come back a week later and the goal would be to get these people enrolled and to get them using the products full time.
So, the cool thing about this was, while it was super embarrassing for sure, I did get some results with it. I think I got a couple customers. I think I even enrolled somebody into my team because of it. So it wasn’t all a failure, but it was clearly not the way that I really wanted to grow my business.
So while I had some results doing things old school, I still found myself stuck at the same rank for years. I was becoming frustrated, I was becoming defeated, and I knew that I wanted to really be able to build online. I knew that I needed to conquer this social media thing.
So I started searching, started Googling, started following some of the top leaders in the industry who had grown very quickly over the past couple of years using social media. And somewhere along the way, I stumbled across Attraction Marketing.
Achieving Success Through Attraction Marketing
The principles of attraction marketing means that you use social media to attract your ideal prospects. So rather than chasing Aunt Karen and Uncle Bob who have told you several times they aren’t interested, you attract the right prospects. Rather than chasing people who don’t care about your brand and your story, you use social media to attract the right people to you.
I started to follow, people that had success using Attraction Marketing. I did some research about where they had learned this strategy and this is what I did…..
……I invested in learning this new skill set.
Here’s what I did not do—I did not expect results to come overnight.
I did not expect to get this training for free.
But I knew that if I completely invested myself into the process, that I could figure it out.
The coolest thing is, once I figured it out, I knew I could teach my team to do the same thing. After all, network marketing is about one thing: DUPLICATION.
Network marketing is NOT about me being a superstar. Nor is it about you being a superstar. It’s about building leaders; it’s about building superstars.
It took me nine whole months before I recruited my first team member on social media using Attraction Marketing. My reality was was not an overnight success story. And most people who are learning a new skill like Attraction Marketing, don’t get results overnight.

But shortly after that first person joined me, I started to enroll very consistently, three to five people every single month on social media. I wasn’t chasing people and I was not prospecting people actively.
People were coming to you!
That is everyone’s dream in network marketing. So I knew I had to start teaching these methods to my team, because I knew that if I could help my team get these types of results, we could grow, as a team, to the top of our company very quickly…
…and we did.
In this post I want to share with you really quickly my four tips on
How to Grow your Business on Social Media.
Tip #1: Seek Out Mentorship
You want to learn from somebody who has the results that you want. I spent way too long trying to piece together free information, and I stayed stuck. It wasn’t until I invested that I started to move forward. And there’s a couple of reasons for this:
- When you don’t invest, you don’t take it seriously. You don’t really do the work you need to do.
- When you invest in more than one mentor, you end up getting little pieces of the puzzle all over the place. Why do that when you could just invest in one person who has the results that you want, teaching you how to get to where you want to go?
Bottom line: Seek out mentorship!
Tip #2: Commit for the Long Haul
It is not going to happen from one post. The whole idea that one post or one video is going to go viral and your whole business is going to change, is a myth.
Can you commit to this new strategy for three to five years?
Can you commit for three to five years? Understand that success takes time. Just look at Amazon!
Results will not come overnight.
Tip #3: Use Video
So I know video can be awkward, I know it can bring up some anxiety for people.
For me, it definitely did at the beginning too. I hated doing videos when I first started. I actually remember the first video I did because I was doing it by myself, hiding in my bathroom from my kids because they were screaming and being crazy.
And I went on, I did a live, and afterwards, the one person who was watching, who was a good friend of mine, texted me. And she was like, “Girl, clean the lens on your phone. That was the most blurry video I’ve ever watched.”
That feedback taught me something! I learned the hard way.
But here’s the truth, video is the fastest way to build trust with your audience. So, if you want to build trust quickly, and you want people to feel like they know you, and you want them to feel like you get them, you’ve got to use video. So whether that’s live video or IGTV, or stories, you need to FACE THE CAMERA.
TIP #4: Be Yourself
Find your unique voice.
Figure out how you can break through the noise and stand out from the crowd.
Don’t try and be like everyone else you see on social media. You will blend in if you do that. Be authentic, be yourself.
Do the work so that you can find your unique voice.
