In the world of network marketing, community is everything—especially now, when digital interactions often replace in-person gatherings. It's crucial to understand that people stay with a business largely due to the community they feel a part of. When challenges arise or business growth stalls, a strong community can be the glue that keeps everyone engaged
I initiated weekly team calls six years ago, and although it was tough at first to get participation, these calls have become a cornerstone of our community building. Here’s how we made it happen:
The key to getting people to join the calls starts with clear communication. You need to enroll your team in the vision and importance of these gatherings. Each week, we post in our team Facebook group detailing the upcoming call’s topic, its purpose, and why attending is crucial. This post includes all essential details like the zoom link and time, and we make sure to tag @everyone to boost visibility.
Additionally, I send a text reminder to the entire team two hours before each call, reiterating the topic, time, and link. Remember, if you want consistent attendance, over-communicating is essential.
I always log into the call about ten minutes early, playing upbeat music to set a lively tone. It’s not uncommon for us to have 100 people join early, eager to catch up and soak in the energy. At the start of the call, I welcome everyone and play an impactful video about our company’s mission, which serves to remind everyone of the resources at their disposal and recommit them to our shared goals.
The first segment of our call invites team members to share their testimonials, both product and business-related. This is a powerful way to bolster belief in what we’re doing. We allow people to volunteer their stories, which keeps this portion fresh and engaging each week. The positive feedback we receive confirms that this is a favorite part of the call for many.
Following the testimonials, we dive into the meat of the call: training that helps move our business forward. All training sessions are designed to be current and actionable, focusing on what’s working now in areas like social media, attraction marketing, and mindset. It’s crucial that our training delivers more than just motivation—it needs to provide real strategies that can be immediately applied. I often lead these sessions myself or invite team leaders to share their insights.
The secret to growing these calls from a handful of attendees to 200-300 each week is consistency. Show up for your team, regardless of who or how many turn up. Your dedication will inspire regular attendance and help cultivate a committed community.
