Is it smart to diversify your income?

You might have heard that really rich people often make money from seven different places. That sounds cool, right? But when you’re in network marketing, should you try to make money from lots of different companies at the same time? Let’s dig into that.

Why joining multiple network marketing companies might not be right for you...

Even though it might seem like a good idea to join lots of companies to make more money, it usually doesn’t work out too well. Here’s why:

  1. You Can’t Focus: If you try to work with many companies, you can’t give your best effort to any of them. It’s like trying to play soccer, basketball, and baseball all at the same time! Like literally on the same court or field with multiple balls flying at your face 😂

  2. Your Team will follow your lead: If you start looking at other things when things get tough, the people who joined your team might do the same. This can make things messy, and it’s hard to do well if everyone is distracted. Plus, there is absolutely nothing worse than everyone on your team recruiting each other. No, thank you!

  3. Leaders Like Stability: If you’re trying to get really good people to join your team, they won’t want to if they see you jumping from one thing to another. They want to know you’re serious and not going to leave them for something else. This is how you build a strong team that sticks together. Everyone feels valued and like they’re truly part of something bigger. You absolutely want to avoid building a team of shiny object jumpers who jump to the next thing as soon as things get a little hard.

The reality is that most people who join multiple different network marketing companies at the same time are making very little money from most of them. The people making BIG money are 100% focused on one network marketing company and team. There might be 1-2 unicorns out there, but for the majority of people this is the truth.

I don't think network marketing companies should be able to sue you or police what you do. Nobody owns your network, but always read your contract, because most companies do have non-competes in place.

We all have the freedom of choice, but it is proven that when you focus in on one company, you are more likely to make big income.

But here’s the thing: making money from different places isn’t all bad—you just have to be smart about it. Here’s what you can do:

  • One Thing at a Time: Focus on one thing until it’s going really well before you start something else. I've brought in a new income stream pretty much annually for the past few years.

  • Pick Things That Work Together: Find other ways to make money that are NOT network marketing. Affiliate marketing and investments are my favorite ways to add streams of income to what i'm doing.

  • Use Your Earnings Wisely: When you make money, think about using some of it to invest in things that can grow over time. This is a great way to get the money you're making to make money.

It’s great to make money from different places, but only if you do it the right way. Make sure you're not messing with your network marketing business while you add more ways to earn. If you do it right, you can build a really cool business that makes you proud and diversify your income at the same time.
