One of the biggest mistakes a leader can make is making everything about their own goals. Imagine you’re part of a soccer team, and instead of working together to win the game, your coach only cares about winning a trophy for themselves. Doesn’t sound like much fun, right?

Meet with Your Team Regularly

Every month, have a chat with your key team members or leaders. This isn’t just any meeting; it’s a special time to talk about what they want to achieve. What are their dreams for their own business this month? How can you help them get there?

By focusing on their goals, you make the whole team feel important, not just like they are there to help you win your trophy.

Help Them Succeed

When the end of the month comes around, instead of rushing to hit your own numbers, you’ll be there to help your team members hit their targets. This is how you build a strong team that sticks together. Everyone feels valued and like they’re truly part of something bigger.

And guess what? When your team hits their goals, you will also hit yours without making it all about you.

Why This Matters

Teams thrive when everyone feels supported. If you only focus on your achievements, team members might feel used or left out. But when you show genuine interest in their success, you create a positive environment where everyone wants to do their best—not just for you, but for the whole group.
